Explore your breathing habits, increase your breathing efficiency, and move your body. Develop your breathing toolkit and learn techniques to calm down, create focus, and improve your performance. Each class will include the following: spinal & balance movements to create space for your breath, Information on your breath’s ability to influence your body, and exercises to increase your breathing efficiency and function.

Breathe to relax and unwind anxiety. Know that you are not an inherently anxious person, rather you may be experiencing symptoms of anxiety. The frequency of your anxious tendencies can change overtime. Through this class you'll explore ways to shift the frequency of anxiety feelings.
In the first 3 classes, we’ll focus on breathing exercises and movement to let your body know that you’re okay and that you can relax. The final 3 classes, we’ll build upon these calming breathwork practices and practice being comfortable and feeling okay on our edge of discomfort and anxiety through breathing and movement techniques.
The live classes will also be recorded & shared to watch or rewatch at your convenience.

Increase your interoception or internal awareness and practice checking in, focus internally, not externally. Each class will be an exploration of your internal awareness through your breath, your heartbeat, and your sense of pressure, temperature, gravity, or tension in your body. We'll try to have fun and explore our bodies with levity, no-judgment, and humor whenever possible. Through increasing your awareness of your breath, you can increase your self-regulation skills helping you show up in life more as you’d like. 4-week virtual class series is $50.
Improve your breathing efficiency.  Breathe through your nose, using your diaphragm, and with the least amount of air you need. Oxygen Advantage® classes will include some resting and walking breath holds to explore your urge to breathe.

Relax & Unwind. Move & Breathe. Stretch and settle into your body. Each class will start with some gentle movement, transition to breathwork, and end with relaxation. You’ll want to have a comfortable place to sit and lie down. For some classes, it can be helpful to have a pillow, blanket, or towel to use as props.

Notice your breath. Allow your breath to move through your body. Add some sounds to your breath. This is a gentle breathwork practice, appropriate for everyone. During this class you'll have the opportunity to practice and develop your internal body sensing capabilities.

Get stronger through breathwork. Challenge yourself. Can you increase your lung capacity? How long can your exhale be? How slow can you breathe? How fast can you breathe? Utilize and explore all aspects of respiratory health to build resiliency and increase your performance. This class is suited to those who are healthy and are active.

Move your body and connect with your breath. We'll move for roughly 30 minutes, doing Essentrics®. We'll also practice intentional breathing for roughly 30 minutes to strengthen and enhance your breathing capabilities. We'll have fun and learn about ourselves along the way.
Essentrics® is a a full body rebalancing workout, a strengthening and flexibility program with smooth, gentle movements set to music to utilize all your muscles and lubricate all your joints.
This class is typically done barefoot, but you could wear clear indoor shoes if you prefer.. You'll be moving, standing, sitting, and lying down. A yoga mat can be helpful. Some are also available for you to use if you need. Class is offered by donation in October. $20 starting in November.

Gentle breathwork practice where we intentional alter our breath exploring different ways to inhale, exhale, and be with short pauses in between the inhales and exhales. We'll practice alternate nostril breathing, and then continue to do a few other breathing practices that could include, interrupting our inhale and exhale, smoothing the breath out, lengthening the breath, humming, and more.
Alternate Nostril Breathing, breathing through one nostril and then the other, can help balance the nervous system, calm the mind, and open up the nasal passages. Alternate Nostril Breathing has historically been done in India as part of the yoga tradition. However now many breathwork practices include and honor this ancient breathing technique.
Practice the art of relaxation. Soothe your body and soul. Relax and feel good, through a series of calming practices (breathwork, touch, sounds, movement, visualizations).
You'll want a space where you can stand, sit, and lie down. Please have a blanket or towel and pillow for props handy. Dress comfortably. Class is 90 minutes, $18.
What is the science of breathing? How were our bodies designed to breathe? Why can it be helpful to pay attention to your breath? Learn breathing fundamentals and practice techniques to identify your breathing habits. Through intentional breathing exercises, you’ll work to improve your breathing, and learn about yourself.
When you breathe in an efficient manner you have more energy to perform better and do the activities you love. Breathing in a relaxed manner can help you feel safer and build emotional capacity.
You'll want to dress in loose unrestricted clothing. We'll sit, stand, and lie down throughout the class. However if you want to stay seated throughout the class modifications will be provided. All are welcome.
Class is offered once a month. Each class will review what efficient breathing is and how it feels in your body. The second half of each class will focus on different aspects of your breath.
Cost is $20 per class.
Each class will include an assessment related to your breathing and your posture. We'll do some self-exploration, some movement, and breathwork. Investigate your posture and bodily holding habits and how they impact your breath. Discover and expand all your breathing spaces.
In-person class will be offered at new small studio space at The Breath and Balance, 880 Barstow Road in Shelburne. Max of 8 people. Please wear comfortable clothes you can move and lie down in.
