It's estimated that ~25% of American adults have sleep apnea. Improving breathing function can reduce risk and frequency of sleep apnea events. How you breathe during the day influences how you breathe at night. Breathing is a habit. And like all habits, with awareness, attention, and practice, habits shift. This event will be part information, part practice, and part discussion.
Nicole will share some of the science on breathing and sleep apnea. We'll go through the four phenotypes of sleep apnea and do a few exercises to help reduce your risk of sleep apnea. More functional breathing is a skill you can learn,. You can develop better breathing habits and strengthen your airway to reduce the likelihood of airway collapse..
There will be time at the end for a short discussion. What’s been helpful for you? What has been your experience? Have you noticed a connection between your breathing habits and sleep apnea?.
If you can't attend at the exact time, the Info & Practice part will be recorded and shared so you can watch when convenient. The group discussion at the end won't be recorded.
